Canon Powershot A495
One of Canon’s A Series offerings for 2010, the A495 is about as straightforward as budget compact cameras get: 10 megapixels, 3.3x zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, AA batteries, and a handful of scene modes (including some cool contrast and saturation effects) in silver, blue or red casing, without image stabilization. Canon makes good low-end cameras, and for $130, it’s tough to ask for much else, so this could be a solid choice for cash-strapped consumers when it hits the shelves in February.
